Resource Efficiency / Decarbonization work for a Glass Manufacturing Firm in Egypt

Energytics and Development Environergy Services Ltd. (DESL), a company affiliated with Veolia, have partnered under the project "Resource Efficiency/Decarbonization Work for a Glass Manufacturing Firm in Egypt." The project is funded by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group (WBG), and consists of two main components.

The first component involves conducting a carbon footprint assessment and benchmarking at the Client’s three plants in Egypt. The assessment will provide valuable insights into the Client's carbon emissions and identify areas where improvements can be made. The benchmarking will enable the Client to compare its carbon footprint with industry standards and establish goals for reducing its emissions.

The second component of the project includes an evaluation of a possible solar PV project. Technical support will also be provided in bid evaluation, and capacity-building activities will be conducted for the Client. The support will enable the Client to make informed decisions about its energy needs and identify sustainable solutions for reducing its carbon footprint.

The project will also assess the low-carbon opportunities for the new furnace to be installed at one of the Client’s plants. Technical support will be provided on wastewater treatment, enabling the Client to develop a sustainable approach to water management.

In conclusion, the partnership between Energytics and DESL under the project "Resource Efficiency/Decarbonization Work for a Glass Manufacturing Firm in Egypt" funded by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group (WBG), will provide valuable support to the Client in reducing its carbon footprint and adopting sustainable practices.
